Default Here is how I would do it.

I read in the paper this morning that Yemen is requesting a pot full of money to help fight terrorism. If I were in charge, I would say, well we might talk about it as soon as you hand over that bomb maker of yours that is changing printers into explosive devices.

Gracie..

Who is not staying long in political.

Default Just another foreign government looking to put their hand

deeper into America's pocket to get a bigger bag of money.
Let them have some of the billions that nobody seems able to account for in Iraq and Afganistan. Is it any wonder they do not want the US to leave their country?
They need to show us what they can do before we support the effort. Not get a bag of money then show us what they can/can't do!!!

Default Sand Down a Rat Hole!

Money given to most third world countries winds up in the pockets of their leaders, politicians and their cronies!!

OOPS!! That kind of sounds like our own government, doesn't it????

Anyhow, I don't think we should be giving them one thin dime!

Default Foreign Aid Definition

Foreign aid has been defined as, "taking money from the poor people of a rich country and giving it to the rich people of a poor country."

As I look at the countries that receive our foreign aid, I more and more appreciate the wisdom of the person who first said this. Yemen! Give me a break.

It may be a drop in the bucket, compared to everything else, but it's still mostly wasted money.

Default To me $150,000,000 is far from a drop in the bucket.

I have always promoted the fact that pennies make dollars.
Sibelious is launching a new "educational "program to teach us how to get more out of reading food labels...$50,000,000.

Just these two programs are just shy of a quarter of a billion dollars.

The only shortage of funding is for those programs that result in benefits to we the people.

The group responsible for coming up with ways to reduce waste and spending are meeting at the Ritz Carlton!!!

All the politicians think they are saying the right words while their actions send a completely different message.
First is, they don't care.
Second is the so called lack of money is for we the people benefits, NOT elected officials.

The irony? The money comes from we the people.....except what they borrow.

How about we all demand our representatives do not support any spending that does not result in a DIRECT benefit to we the people.
How about, if we have no money, we start by cutting out all foreign aid? Oh how heartless eh? OK reduce it all by 50% starting tomorrow morning.

How about our representatives treating spending like we all have to do in our lives?

Naw. Let's just keep doing business as usual and wait for a crisis to knee jerk a fix. Remember Rahm Emanuel's credo....never let a good crisis go to waste!!
Our government works on the theory of fire fighting and not fire prevention.
To be more accurate the really operate on the basis of do nothing until the flames can be seen and we feel the heat.

Sound too negative? It is just a reflection of our current modus operendi.
