Well, it was pretty slow here in political today and I thought it might be worth discussing, but maybe I was a little hasty starting this thread. It struck a nerve in me because I have seen the contempt that this POTUS has demonstrated to anything patriotic in the past.
Is this not the man who has been all over this earth telling anybody who will listen how unexceptional the USA has been in the past? I figured with 2 wars going on, well, I guess I expect too much, huh?

As a Veteran, I appreciate him not showing up. I don't think he really shows much respect for our flag or the military. But I could be wrong.

i, too was disappointed that obama would not be laying the wreath at arlington - especially because he did not participate in the memorial day services there this year - since he was in chicago.

but http://www.snopes.com/politics/obama/memorialday.asp outlines how many times the presidents as far back as reagan did not participate in those ceremonies - a shame!

my sincere thanx to those who served to keep our country free.

Korea - you know, where we have nearly 30,000 troops stationed. 28,500 AMERICAN troops.
