Default Oddfellows Lodge

For those former Oddfellows and prospective Oddfellows out there, after some searching I found lodge in Leesburg.
I attended a meeting last night and found the members to be friendly and welcoming to me, a member and Past Grand in New York State.
They are actively looking for new members and if you're interested I'm sure you would feel right at home at the Leesburg Lodge.
For more information just send me a P.M. and I'll get right back to you.

Oddfellows, or formally, The Independent Order of Oddfellows is a worldwide fraternal organization which was founded in England in, I think, the 17th or 18th century. It was organized in North America in 1819 by former members from England.
The order takes care of it's own members, and practices aid to others. There is a whole array of programs which is supported by Oddfellows which serve the community. If you'd like a listing of some of those I'll be happy to provide it.
Like you, I had never heard of the Oddfellows until I was asked to join about 15-16 years ago. I did some research, talked to members and joined and have never regreted that decision.
There is fun stuff for the members and spouses as well. I'm not sure what goes on at the Leesburg Lodge but in my NY Lodge, dinners and activities are an important part of what we do as a group.
Thanks for asking. I'm always happy to talk about the IOOF.

As a child, I lived in Oddfellow Street, in a small town in the north of England. There was a large building at the end of the street, which was where the meetings took place. In all the years I lived there I never knew what it was

I will be coming to the Villages in February from the UK. I am a member of the Freemasons and am wondering if there are any lodges there. Also, normally in Florida my American friend and his wife take us to the Elfs Lodge as visitors and we have had some great company and meals there.
