To answer your question, no, however, I would do a LOT of investigation into this product. As i recall, there were significant price increases and possibly some problems with contracts. There have been several postings about solar in Florida, and IMHO it does not appear to make any economic sense until Florida state changes the way utilities compensate the customers for the power generated/ Finally, double check the weight of these versus standard shingles. I have note seen a lot of info on these in recent years, so I have no idea of the current status of this product.

You should check with your home insurance company that they won't insist on its being replaced after 15 years - and with Compliance that they will allow it. I asked them about having an aluminum roof and was told that, as long as it was tiles not industrial sheets, they would be happy.

I am asking an honest question. How can asking be a scam? It is my money to waste if I want to waste it. I earned it.

LOL. I agree. The best person to ask is a contractor who sells the product in the area. But, don't rely on any of their calculations for energy or cost savings. Almost every solar contractor will lie to you about that. But, I guess it doesn't matter if you really want to waste your money.

Tesla Solar has a website that previously would provide you with a solar roof estimate based upon satellite imagery of your home. I got an estimate thru that in July … the price was $53,000 for my 1900 sq ft home. I noticed today that the website now only offers prices for Tesla Solar panels and not the roof. For solar Roof panels they point you to Kelly Roofing in Naples (kellyroofing.com)

The web quote I received today for solar panels and one powerwall battery was $23,000.

Neither option makes any economic sense to me. My roof is going on 18 years and will probably need to replace it in the near future.
