Default Brake caliper painting

Looking for someone to paint or powder coat brake calipers on new Lexus. Prefer same-day turn time if not cart accessible to drop off.

MGP Caliper covers makes a high end Caliper cover! I can attest to that because I have used them on three different cars… a Powdercoat will definitely require more than a few days. It’s a lengthy process to have it done properly.., Good Luck

Thank you for quick response. It looks like covers are not available for the 2022 NX350 F Sport. I may call them. And yes, as nice as the outcome can be, powder coating is a process. There are some outfits who are quicker than others. I worked with motorcycle custom parts and accessories for 30 years. Will likely end up painting myself, one or two at a time.

Why do you need to paint the calipers? No one will see them after you put your wheel covers back on.

The cheapest answer is to have drum brakes installed. They never need painting.

In my opinion I would paint them myself. During the covid lock down I restored an old Honda motorcycle and had some parts powder-coated and it was a process getting them ready. I had to complete clean and remove any trace of oil. Also had to plug holes and mask off any areas for overspray. I would think it would be a week at least as you would have to bleed all the brake lines after reassembly.

Having rebuilt 8 cars from the ground up, I would DIY. However, the calipers must be CLEAN, very clean, and you need the special high temp paint caliber paint. I have no idea how hard your calipers are to move off the disk break rotor, but I would do that WITHOUT disconnecting the brake line. Clean the caliper, cover the disk brake rotor and any areas that are not to be painted on the caliber. Carefully spray the caliber, allow to dry and reinstall, then repeat for the other wheels. I would do one wheel at a time.
Hope this helps.

Who puts wheel covers aka hubcaps on cars these days? Most newer cars have some type of slotted wheels where you can see the brake calipers. Thus when you color them they stand out and look nice!

No idea but I do like the way you are thinking! Are you going for red calipers?

Default +1 For Red!!

I did my wife’s IS F Sport a few years back in red and did a gloss back undercoat on the front calipers, then applied F-Sport die cut stickers to the front calipers (they were wide enough for the logo) and then painted them with several light coats of red. Carefully removed the stickers and voila!! I used VHT Caliper paint from Autozone. Very durable and looks great!!
