1. Their first car.
2. Their favorite muscle car.
3. Cars that would seat six or seven people.
4. Any car that brings pleasent memories.

My 68 Roadrunner, metallic green, black interior, 4 speed Hurst shifter, 383 engine,chrome wheels, ah, she was a beaut, bought her brand new for I think around $4200. You cant find a 68, the first year it came out, at I havent been able to find one.

1. 1961 Buick Special
2. 1966 & 1968 GTO's (I've had two Turbocharged cars that would go 140+ but the GTO's I had were really muscle cars.)
3. Dad's big Buick Station Wagon
4. 1965 Buick Skylark Convertible (I've mentioned this in other threads - it must have had "chick magnet" painted on the side.)

first car 1957 Plymouth Belvedere.
The sportiest a 1964 Triumph TR4 (British Racing Green)

Believe it or not, my fondest memories are from my sisters brand new 1964 Red 4 door Ford Falcon. She is 14 years older than me and let me use her car anytime I wanted it when I was 16 and she was 30. My brother and I used that car more than she. We also wrecked it three times more than she.

As an adult, I've been blessed to have many very very nice cars. For 18 years my company provided me with a new Lincoln or Cadillac every two years. That doesn't happen today.

My 1st was a ...1963 Chevy Impala convertible.
Favorite muscle car was a 1968 GTO.
After I wrecked my '63 Impala convertible, I could only afford a 1956 Dodge. It was a great car and could fit 3 in the front, 4 in the back...and a couple in the trunk (when going to the drive-in.)
Plesant memories includes my 40th anniversary Corvette. I'm looking for a way to get it shipped to TV. There's no way I'm going to drive it 1200 miles...ohhhh...my aching back!

My favorite was my , 1966 chevy Nova Super Sport, 327 ci with 350 hp. Nassau blue, black interior, I have looked at them forsale at the Turkey Rod run in
daytona Bch. Now $40,000. for a decent one ! How I would love to have that car today .

1. '53 Dodge Coronet, referred to at the time as "The Upside Down Bath Tub". Refer to another post of mine in a different thread re: cigarette causing a fire in the back seat........

2. '66 Olds 442. My 2nd car. White, black vinyl top, red bucket seat interior, console, 4 speed - an unusual color combination for a car of that ilk back then. I liked it because it wasn't what everyone else drove at the time - pretty unique. Of all the muscle/sports/collector cars we've had over the course of time, ('65 GTO, another '66 442, '67 '69 '71 Novas, '69 Z-28...same color combo as the 442!, '70 Chevelle SS, seven Corvettes, two street rods), I loved this one the most. Had cars that performed better, rode better, etc. But that 442 will always be #1.

3. '66 Plymouth Fury III. My college 'Money Maker' - generally went back and forth on weekends to see my wife-to-be (and she's still my wife!) and wanted a car that I could jam as many people and luggage into as possible. A couple bucks each way per person helped me pay my way through school!!

1963 Red Ford Galaxy 500 Convertible. Purchased for $800 in 1968. Installed two Hollywood glass pack mufflers and got pulled over in Waikiki by two motorcycle cops the next day for buzzing through the condos in low gear. Gave me a fix it or ticket chit (great Honolulu cops) after I convinced them I had an exhaust manifold leak.

1972 GTO purchased new in late 71 for $4800. Drove it (and fixed it) for 26 years. Sold it in 1998 to a fellow from Ball Ground, GA who shipped it from Hawaii to Georgia. Still had all original equipment including the GM sticker on the air cleaner. Sold it for a lot more than I paid for it.

1999 BMW M3 Purchase new in 98 (you don't want to know the price). Best car I have ever owned. This car is scarry fast. Corners like a cat. It is coming to TV with me.

I remember a friend who had a 440 Plymouth Hemi Autiomatic that raced a 396 vette and won. The other person got angry and went and bought a 426 vette. They raced again and the Hemi won again.

Was the 442 the same type of car as the Hemi?

First: 1961 baby blue Dodge Dart. Man, that car was ugly but I thought she was beautiful.

Muscle car (and my second car): 1968 Yenko Camero. I LOVED that car. Raced it on the strip and raced it on the road. Idiots would never think to look under the hood or even ask was a Yenko was -- they just assumed it was a standard Camero. And, of course, girls can't drive. My orange thunder won me a lot of money in its time. Wish I still had it.

6-7 seater: Um, does a '65 Vette count? We actually crammed 7 of us in one. Thank goodness we never saw a highway patrol officer. We would have been so hosed.

My best memories are actually in the Miata I now own. I had so much fun driving my daughter around in it when she was little. I wouldn't actually be going fast, but it felt fast because it's so low to the ground and corners like a dream. I've driven many cars down Highway One but the Miata was the most fun for it -- taking the turns beautifully, being in a convertible, blasting some great sounds. Also, there was a certain bump I could take at 65 and the car would actually get off the ground -- not much but enough to be fun. She loved that (so did I).

This is obviously your attempt to make me feel old! My daughter wasn't little when the Miata was first introduced.

Aside from that I would love to be cruising down Highway 1 in a convertible. Heading out there soon but the convertible will be here in the garage, need the SUV to haul the golf clubs, etc.

Got out of the Navy in "64" and traded my Volkswagen Beetle in for a "67" Olds 442. Felt like a rocket ship. That's my most memorable car. I wish I still had it.

They were kinda the same.....to a degree. Both muscle cars from their respective manufacturers. Big engines in mid-sized cars = quick! A street Hemi properly tuned would blow the doors off many cars of the day.....including a 442. Tough to get - and keep - the Hemi in a proper state of tune, though. The few I remember from back then were in the hands of guys who didn't know how to do it - theirs never seemed to run real well.

I lost my license street racing in that 442. That was a "Bad Day at Black Rock"..........but I won the race! (that was the consolation prize, I reckon)
