Default Sumter County High School teacher arrested for inappropriate contact with student

The Sumter County Sheriff’s Office began an investigation on Nov.11 after a student reported a teacher, later identified as 48-year-old Jason Patrick Sager, had engaged in “inappropriate communications and physical contact” with them, according to

Moderator you need to change title! It is very offensive to victims. Those who reply in joking matter about title, stop and think if these students were your relatives.

This title is what happens when you run out of room and don't proofread.

The teacher has not been convicted yet, and I see nothing abusive in the responses.
The post to me has nothing to do with TOTV, and is just click bait in my book.

I do not see how this title is offensive to the victim, since the victim's name is never mentioned. The title does grab your attention. What seems strange to me, this looks more like a news piece than something you usually see on this forum. The mentioning of the teacher's name is a problem. If the teacher is found innocent there will be no retraction posted on this site. The teacher's name will be tarnished forever.

Typical double standard. When a female teacher, or a female with power/influence over others is a predator of young males, a lot of people pat the young male on the back. But when the genders are reversed, many of those same people are aghast. A predator - is a predator.

Just found this story and did a Google search on his name. No follow up story since the original story in November. I would be tempted to say this was a "he said she said" situation, but the contact via social media afterhours makes that problematic.

Apologies for the original thread title. When it was automatically posted, the word limit for thread titles cut off the last few letters of student. It has been corrected.
