I have a ton of DVD/Blu-Rays, over 300. Most are movies but some are actually seasons of a TV show or movie concerts. Every year I cull the herd and either sell or donate those I no longer watch or have interest in. But I still have lot. I store them in a carousel that has gone through 3 moves now in 20+ years and the particle board is showing its age.

Looking to replace it with something smaller and more stylish, we started looking in what I consider the usual places: Best Buy, Target, Wal-Mart, Furniture stores and building supply stores and not really finding much. I've looked at Way-Fair and a few other places on line as well.

I'm guessing no one stores these any more but looking for suggestions on where I might find something. I'm considering ripping them and putting on my own storage but that has costs too....

OK, I got you beat - I have over 5000 DVDs - People have told me to get rid of them, since streaming is what people do now - here’s the catch - easily over half of my classic movies are either not on any streaming service, or they come and go. Back in Colorado, I had a whole room dedicated to DVD storage - let me tell you how I reduced the footprint of my collection - as much as I hated doing it, I had to ditch all the “clam cases” and movie Art the DVD was packaged with, keeping only the disc. I purchased steel DVD suitcases on Amazon for about $179 each - the sleeves are numbered, and I created an excel spreadsheet, so I can easily retrieve a movie (I also keep them in alphabetical order) - I had to purchases six huge suitcases for my collection, but you could probably fit your collection in one suitcase - takes up minimal room in my guest room closet.

Maybe slightly off topic, but when I had almost 800 music CDs, I had 2, Sony 400-disc changers/players. They used to only cost about $200 each, but they are a lot more expensive now, if you can find them. And, they do have changers that will play both CDs and DVDs, but maybe not Blu-Ray. It was a great product. If I were a movie buff, I would try to find one.

Years ago, I copied all of my CDs onto my computer hard drive in both compressed and lossless formats, and threw away the discs. It's amazing that I can copy all of my music onto a single thumb drive in the mp3 format. It is also amazing that I cannot tell the difference in sound quality between an mp3 song and an uncompressed song format, even though the mp3 uses only one-tenth of the data. Now, I use a Sony DVD player to play music from a thumb drive through my stereo system.
