Default Brownwood town square theater is permanently closed

Taking a walk to the square this morning, I saw a message posted on the ticket window that the theater is permanently closed. I'd like to think it would be repurposed for something to benefit the villagers.

It's for the benefit of Villagers when it makes money for the developer. They are out to make money no return on investment they are within their rights to close a venue.

Now that is interesting.

They should turn it into a dance hall. Kind of like Katie Belles.

But didn't they get rid of Katie Belles? Apparently that didn't make enough money for them either, although it was well attended and loved by the patrons.

Maybe they’ll turn it into a live entertainment venue like the Savannah center.

I don't believe the Developer operates the theater, they own the building and rent it to the operator who as I remember, operated all three theaters. If the operator cannot or will not meet their obligations the Developer can cancel/void the agreement under terms of the rental out clauses. When things close, it's usually because the person operating the business is not successful, either through mismanagement or changing market conditions impact.
