Where does one get a fast and fair price oil change here in The Villages
Thank you for your help. Update: Thank you for all your help. Went to 5 Minute Oil Change in Lady Lake. They did just like you said they would. They did try to upsell but that's part of the service. Oil change sure not cheap by any means but it is what it is. Thank you again for all your help. Last edited by SallyB; 07-03-2023 at 08:36 AM. Reason: Update |

I don't think there is any such thing as a fair price oil change anymore but we take our cars to Sumter Tire in Wildwood, they have 2 locations there, never had a problem with them over the 6 years we have been using them and they do all kinds of other repairs if you ever have the need.

Pick a place to call for an appointment. The closest quick changes Mobile1 or Valvoline aren't in the area only Inverness and Beleview.

I was shocked at the great service I got at the "Take 5" oil change place north of the Walmart on west side of 441.
I pulled right in, with no appointment, rolled down my window, and a guy handed me a cold bottle of water and there was a fan blowing in the window while he took my info, and then they changed my oil, all while I sat in the car. Afterwards, they topped off all the fluids and checked the filters. When they were done, they had a guy calling off items on a check list, to make sure everything was secure before they closed the hood. They were very professional and serious about doing a great job. I didn't think to time it, but I doubt I was there 10 minutes. It was about $50 for the "economy" oil change, which is outrageous, but still less than most places, and about the same as my last WalMart oil change (where they made me wait 45 minutes, and then broke the hood release handle for the 2nd time). |

My experiences have shown to me that there isn't enough difference in price between businesses to make a difference. Only difference was in the time needed to complete the oil change. The quick lube places are usually the most convenient and fastest. No appointments, just drive in, wait in the car for a few minutes and go. Now you will have to contend with some of them trying to sell you new air filters and cabin filters but ask to see the old filter so you can determine if it needs replacing.

If using one of those fast oil change businesses, don't let them adjust the air in your tires.
The air in tires need to be adjusted/check cold, and your tires are hot. |

Goodyear is having a $20, $40, $50 sale on oil changes. Good, better, best.

I normally have an oil change done at the dealer but used Take 5 last time. Was very impressed, and it showed up in my Carfax report.
