Default Was Sumter Landing Theater busy last week

There has been lots of discussions in the Villages about the need to open Brownwood theater. Most of the comments indicated that there are no longer enough good movies to fill two theaters. Last week many big name movies were playing across the country filling theaters everywhere. Did anyone experience crowds in Sumter Landing? Was anyone turned away due to being at capacity? Have not heard anything on this topic.

We saw a movie in mid afternoon last week and the theater was full except for the rows directly in front of the screen. I was surprised it was so crowded.

It’s close to 100 degrees….it’s cheaper to UOPA (use other people’s air) so theater is #2 place to go. So not so much about a movie, it AC.

#1 is indoor mall…TV doesn’t have one. Parking lots at major stores have been very busy, guess that’s as close to mall as one can get.

I saw Oppenheimer and Barbie at Sumter in the last couple weeks, and there were plenty of open seats at each one.

I shudder to think that there are people living in TV who find it necessary to UOPA.
If you can't afford AC in your house, some life choices may be in order.

You forget there are many who live in older section of manufactured homes. AC can sometimes have a hard time keeping up with 100 degrees. It not about what they can afford, it gives the unit a break for couple hours in mid day heat.

I guess if people aren’t up to your standards, they shouldn’t be allowed to enjoy their best life, which may or may not be up to your standards.

I know a couple from the historic side in their nineties, their older small manufactured home is well, appointed, and clean. They go to the theater, enjoy an afternoon watching a movie. He said we try to give ourselves a break and our allow our AC to function on a little less stress.

I would consider that a well thought idea. Never in my life or upbringing would I ever look down on someone who need to cut back a bit. I find those who would be my grandparents age fascinating with wise, thoughts. My grandparents taught me that just because you have more,,,,,does not make you a better person.

Your comments to those who may have less…… is Demeaning, and definitely not wise
