Default Sliding Glass Patio Door

Hello Neighborhood Friends:

I’m looking for a good lead on a company in our area that can replace the rollers on my sliding glass patio (Lanai) door. After 20 Years they have given up. I’m in Chatham.
Thanks in advance for any advice.
Regards
Jim

Romac installed ours and after the fact we got a screen slider from them. The Villages warranty can tell you who did the initial install if you want to go that route. Otherwise a handyman should be able to do it. It shouldn't be very expensive. Good luck.

As I recall the rollers are typically available from local hardware stores and Lowe's, Home Depot or ACE. The bigger problem is getting the door out, these are very heavy, and then back in after the rollers have been replaced. While I really like DIY, this is one project I will probably defer to professionals.
I agree with previous comment, home warranty should be able to give you the name of the suppliers of the sliders, as well as the installers, and they would be my first contacts for the repair.

Sliding Glass Door Rollers

I’ve done both of my sliding doors few years ago when I was younger, this not for faint of heart (weak) or lack of basic skills. The door’s heavy and probably [all same as mine] bottom frame has to come off due to the roller assembly in cased in lower frame. The rollers come in 3 sizes starting 7/8” and up. You have to know which size rollers you have so the adjustment will work. Too small and won’t roll easily cause the adjustment maxed out. You can buy rollers or bracket and roller assembly. Any handyman should be able to do this. Price depends on parts, lower track condition and labor.

You could try to clean up track and adjust roller up if the roller adjustment screw not corroded and locked up?
