Default The Living Wage a Single Person Needs in All 50 States

In Florida, a single person needs to make $57,064.

That is the 20th most expensive state.

The most expensive state is Hawaii and the least expensive state is Mississippi.

That means the person has to produce that much in goods or services and barter with someone for cash to make it easier to get the goods and services they want from others. Cash just makes it easier to barter.

Generally speaking, you can't barter for rent, or mortgage, or utilities, or health services, or groceries.

Sounds inflated to me. Clickbait. In that example, health ins. should be little or no cost (employer health ins. or ACA covering all or nearly all of the health premiums). Food, utilities, rent for a 1BR, modest economy car, insurance, etc. I could absolutely do it for under $48k if I were living frugally even less than that.

Why should any employer pay any employee a living wage if their job does not require the education and experience required to do a job of that value? And what is included in covering one's living expenses besides rent/basic utilities - cable tv, cell phones, car/transportation costs, etc?

To answer your ? Any single person making less than $28 an hour and who has no vacation and works 40 hours a week for 52 weeks a year. $28 X 52 X 40=$58,240.00. Almost all trades people make less than this in Florida.

To answer your question, areas like TV need a lot of low/lower skilled jobs, like restaurant jobs, lawn maintenance, non skilled construction jobs, gas stations, etc. You mentioned transportation costs. Very little if any public transportation in and around TV making a car necessary.
