If you have a Roku you should be able to do it.

You can also cast anything wirelessly using Plex Media Server as long as you have a smart TV and WiFi.

If you have a Chromecast, either preinstalled on your TV or a separate device plugged into the back of your TV, then you just 'cast' from the phone. I think cast is an option once your phone has recognized the device.

I believe there are two main connection types, Chromecast and Airplay. The iphone will likely only support Airplay and the pc might only support Chromecast (easy to do through the Chrome browser).
Your Smart TV, firestick, or Roku device will need the ability to accept a connection from your iphone or pc. My smart TV knows both Chromecast and Airplay but others I have seen have only worked with Chromecast. My firestick doesn't want to work with either my iphone or pc but there might be another app for that. Check the settings on your TV to see what it supports. Your pc or iphone will need to be on the same network as your tv. This is usually the case in your home since they are both connected to your home wifi. The app that you are streaming from (Hulu, YouTube, Netflix, Max, etc) will need to allow casting/mirroring. This is hit and miss; some will allow casting while others limit you to watching on the small screen. (A streaming subscription offered through a mobile phone plan might not allow you to cast if they could also sell you a non-mobile streaming service) What works for me: - my smart TV has support for both Chromecast and Airplay - I use the Chrome browser on my pc to run the application then cast from that - Since my TV supports it, I can also cast from my iphone - I have occasionally run into situations where the app on my iphone did not allow me to cast

If you are just using it for occasional viewing, the easiest way is to buy an HDMI cable and plug it into your TV.

Android --- Chromecast it (no wires needed)
Apple: --- AIrplay it (no wires needed) Both the above are simple, wireless and both assume your TV (most new ones do) or your "Stick" (most do) support one of those features. It also assumes the station you want to watch doesn't lock those features out (most do not) using DRM over HDMI. Both avoids buying cables and adapters and getting behind your TV to access an hdmi port. Sometimes if wall mounted it's not easy. Easiest way is go on YouTube and search for something like "stream my phone on my tv". You'll find probably hundreds of videos.

Why would you go thru the hassle of buying a lightning (if iPhone) to hdmi cable, then the hassle of getting behind the tv finding an hdmi port if 1 is open. The best box to buy is the Apple TV 4K device where you can airplay from your iPhone or Mac.
But if it was me, I would get it off the phone and put the file on a computer, then have the Apple TV 4K box point to your computer they just play it from there. The Apple TV 4K box will link to your computer to stream music and videos as well as providing the ability to download apps like YouTube tv, paramount+, Disney, to stream all your tv and movie content. My Apple TV 4K box is the hub for my whole house automation too.` You can go cheap by getting a firestick, chromecast, Roku solution, but they do very little compared to what the Apple TV 4K can do |

If you have a smart TV, download MirrorMeister. We use it all the time to transfer the Buffalo Bills football games from our iPhones to our TV.
