Default Clubs in the Villages

We've all heard there are over 2,000 clubs in the Villages. Actually there are currently almost 3,000 clubs listed in the Villages. This is somewhat misleading and when you think about it, not really as impressive as it sounds. When you look at the number of Unique clubs the number reduces drastically. By unique I mean Card Clubs for example. There are about 200 card clubs. Here are some club category numbers.
Crafts - 87 Dance - 200+ Exercise - 162 Mah-Jongg - 89 Walk away the Pounds - 88

The number of Clubs is still impressive, but somewhat blown out of perspective. How many clubs can you actually belong to and participate in? When I came to the Villages I thought I'd be involved in many clubs, but now after 4 years I'm no longer in any clubs. There are clubs that are Full with waiting lists and many are just duplicates at different locations.

How many clubs do you really participate in?

I’ve been here one year, and I am a member of 8 clubs - I also started a social club for my villa neighborhood, and I am in the process of forming a second club, built around fine wine and food pairings (still working out the details of that club.)

There are several other clubs that interest me, but I have to limit myself due to how busy I am with so many other activities here in The Villages.

For those that haven’t found a club that suits them, I would recommend forming your own club around a personal interest or hobby.

The problem with clubs is most accept anyone until full. (hear me out before rolling your eyes) If you are an expert or knowledgeable on the matter, it is annoying to go to a club attended by a majority who are at the beginner level. You quickly find yourself bored. It would better if all clubs had levels: beginner, continued learning, and advanced.
