Default Q-Tip?

We came down in September, recently had a long talk with a contractor about the Villages and the area in general, he spoke of a funny term I had never heard before, watch out for the Q-Tips when driving behind one.

I thought for a minute about what he had just said, and it dawned on me what he was talking about, I had to laugh.
He was referring to me and all the others with white hair which is all you see from behind when driving., maybe 2 Q-Tips with a passenger.

That is kind of funny...and I, too, had never heard that expression before. Where I lived it was LOP....Little Old People....

Default Q tip

The first time I heard that term was from my 87 year old farther-in-law who is a full time resident on Cape Cod and he is always complaining about the summer traffic and the Q Tips and he also calls them Snow Cones.

OMG
I thought DH and I invented the term.
While sitting on a bench in Cape May NJ about 20 years ago, we were mere babes of about 40, we noticed a bus load of seniors park nearby.
When you looked at the bus from the side all you saw were rows of little white heads. One of us remarked that the bus looked like a box of Q-tips.
Have used the term ever since.
Guess someone else thought the same thing...what is it they say about brilliant minds?

My old boss used to warn people about getting behind "old men in hats" on the highway.

Now I am one of those old men - No hat though....

Hi Whalen,

Maybe you did. What if you started saying it, and others heard it and started saying it, and eventually it went viral.

That's your story and I'm sticking too it.

Q-tips. Gotta love it!

Our neighbor told us that the term Q-Tip refers to white on both ends, one end is the head with gray hair, and the other end is the feet with white tennis shoes... too funny.
