Default Hooking up Smart TV to listen with Bluetooth headphones

We have a new tv but having difficulty hooking it up so we can watch with headphones...needed when spouse is trying to nap.

Is there someone in The Villages we can call to assist?

Try the folks where you bought the tv.

First, you need to determine if the TV will act as a bluetooth transmitter. Go to your menu settings and click on audio options. If there is a selection for bluetooth, then try to pair the TV to your headphones. If bluetooth is not available, you can buy a bluetooth transmitter from Amazon for about $20. You can connect the transmitter to the back of the TV, where it says "audio out" and pair it to the headphones. You also need to change the TV speaker settings to "external speakers".

Apple TV will let you use headphones.

I believe Roku also but most Smart TVs don't so best to get an Apple TV, Roku, etc.

Most smart TVs are horrible with app updates.
