I had the pleasure to play Sarasota Exec course yesterday.

Wow , it is in great shape !

From the tee boxes to the greens , all were well groomed. I LOVE the way this maintenance crew is leaving a nice collar around the greens , giving the player a chance of making a nice chip shot vs the scalped down condition at many other courses.

I posted a couple of pictures of some damage to the course because I wanted everyone to know how destructive the beautiful sand cranes can be ! A group of just four can put a hurt on the turf in short order !

The greens were a bit in the slow side but once they are mowed and rolled , they will be outstanding !

I was told by an ambassador they they are planning to close the course for a couple of weeks in June to “finish” some of the work already started.

The “report card” rates the course a “B” . However, I would give it an A-

I will respectfully disagree. I played Sarasota the day it reopened. The gold and green tee boxes on hole 3 are completely torn up and all must play this water hole from the back black tees. There was dirt all over the cart paths and the greens were still bumpy from aeration. Not ready for prime time.
