Default Best route from south of 466 to Spanish Springs?

Can anyone give me a suggestion about the best way to get from Mallory Square to Spanish Springs by golf cart?

Thanks!

Default After 3 years I just learned a new route!

  1. North on Morse until you get to the light at Rio Grande Ave (north of 466).
  2. Go straight through light, take next right on Navarro Ct.
  3. Go to stop sign, take left onto Libson
  4. Go to stop sign, take right onto Panama Pl
  5. Go to stop sign, take left onto Del Mar Drive
  6. Follow that into town square.

NOTE: If the light at Morse/Rio Grande is red, I take a right on red onto Rio Grande, then I take the first left onto Lisbon (step 3 above).

aj - Looking at a $5 map, that does look like a little bit better/shorter route than what we've always taken: north on Morse, right on Rio Grande, then left on Del Mar to the square.

Thanks!

Suggest you get the $5 map so you will not get lost.
The recommended route is a good one as you avoid that narrow little cart lane on Rio Grande.

Default The $5 map

If you are a AAA member (the motor club) or AA AAA (for alcoholics who drive), you can get a free Villages map at the AAA store at Lake Sumter Landing.

oooohhhh, now you've gotten everyone taking the shortcut. Who's needs traffic on a shortcut?

Oh well, I guess they would have found it eventually

After I posted I was thinking that the people who live on those roads must be real pleased with me.

PS. I forgot to mention, this shortcut is restricted to carts that can go at 19.9 MPH

Per Yahoo Maps to Del Mar @ Too Jays:

Navarro Ct route = .99 miles/3 min
Rio Grande to Del Mar route = 1.36 miles/5 min
Rio Grande to Avenida Central to Del Mar to Too Jays = 2.0 miles/7 min
(just was wondering why it isn't Two Jays?)

I like to drive Avenida Central for the scenic views (a lot of times I will turn off 441 and onto the Avenida Central Loop just to enjoy it)

We drove to SS via Rio Grande once and I don't like that narrow cart lane AT ALL.

We have two $5 maps and a Garmin on board. I was just looking for some local knowledge...and my fellow TOTVers came thorugh.

Thanks!

We went to SS today using this route. Very nice. Thanks for the tip.

On the way back from SS, it is sometimes better at this time of year to stay on Del Mar rather than take Panama shortcut

Turning left out of Navarro on to Morse can be a problem, whereas Rio Grande has traffic lights

Also Jay's what?

To Jay's in understandable

Two Jay's seems the most reasonable.

No matter, still like the grubs.
