Just looking at new homes, prices, and lots. It seems middleton is a much better value?
You can still golf at the championship courses and visit all the town centers. You have pools and parks. So what is the negative? I need a fence and Middleton allows them, looking for any advice. |

Makes total sense. If your friend has that kind of cash, his kid is not going to the charter school, his kid is attending some private school someplace |

Biggest difference as you probably know is no access to the Lifestyle amenities but they are family focused. Neighborhood social life is mostly through the children so a 55+ with no family there may feel a little isolated. Walking distance to Middleton Downtown will be a big plus once it goes on over the next 5+ years. It's mandatory parents be involved with the schools and you can see it in the children. The groups of young people at from the encounter have always been polite and respectful. Sales and Rental properties seem to be doing well there. |

I am sure there are those that are less expensive. I think that you would find it better to live "IN" The Villages instead in a family community. I am not a realtor and have never sold any homes but a couple that we lived in. I am sure you can find a home with a fence in The Villages. It would be wise for you to come and spend a month or so here renting and taking your time to access with your boots on the ground ...in my opinion. At any rate, I am sure you will find the perfect place and we can all...... Welcome you home.

It is kind of far from everything and you can’t golf on any executive courses without paying? Also the houses are stick construction and not built with block or concrete slab.

Watch the new build construction carefully. Price reductions are given once the developer moves on to a new area. In Lake Denham and Dabney over 250 homes saw price reductions. Many of the homes had fences. Most likely, there will be discounted homes in the Eastport area.

Very different, family versus retirement community. Totally different target markets/demographics and lifestyles. Middleton might have been great for us 35 years ago, but no thanks today.

I thought you couldn't play the executive courses at all if you didn't live in the Villages unless you had a guest ID card. And if you live in Lake, Sumter, or Marion counties you can't get a guest ID card unless you are a child or grandchild of a Villages resident. I don't think living in Middleton provides any access to the executive courses. If it does, the courses will really be crowded next winter!
