I am still a little confused by the CDD elections so I have spent the morning calling Districtgov.org and the Board of Elections.
From my discussions with them, I think the following is accurate! In District 13, there are five district supervisors. Three positions are open in the November election. There are two positions that are voted on at the regular ballot - the one for president, senators, etc. Every registered voter is eligible to vote for these two positions. The election will take place at your regular polling place (mine is Ezell) and I think you can vote for these by mail or in early voting. However, there is a third position which is a Landowner Elected Supervisor. This is where it gets a bit complicated. The Landowner Elected Supervisor is a separate election. This will not be on the general ballot and the election is not held at Ezell. Instead, it is held at Everglades. In addition, there is only one vote per household and there is no early voting. So if I want to vote in person on election day, I have to go to Ezell for the general election and then to Everglades for the CDD election. I will probably vote early in the general election and then go to Everglades. The following is a link for District 14. Landowner elections have always been a mystery to most people. But they are very important here in The Villages.

If you find them mysterious, what hope is there for the rest of us!

No mystery to me, but then 10 years ago when I first moved to The Villages I set out to understand how this community works, because like many, I had my own thoughts and ideas and most were pretty much wrong.
