Happy Friday, All:

I am just checking in to say hi and ask if anyone like me is concerned about the possibility I will outlive my savings.

Medicaid will help you, if so.

If I doubted my ability to stick with a safe withdrawal rate from my savings (which I don't), I would get an annuity. There are several on line sources which shop annuities for you for the best deal.

I suggest you find a financial planner who will help you with that concern. I'm assuming you are not qualified (as I am also not) to manage it yourself. Finding someone to take that pressure off of you gives you time to enjoy life

Were you from a middle class family?

No one answered her question.

I care about others, but I am not the least bit concerned about you running out of money. If I was concerned about any/every given person running out of money, I would have no time to think about anything else. Even if I did, it's out of my control, and I prefer to focus on things that are within my control.

How did I do?

I have feared for years that I won't have enough to get to my end. I just don't know when I'm leaving.

Here's an online calculator I use to help with that question. I think putting in an annual return of 6% and inflation at 3.5% is being conservative enough.

Assuming you also have SS in addition to any savings? So you can pull that out of your monthly income need.

Yes, you may need the help of a financial planner. Good luck!

How long will my money last with systematic withdrawals?

One medical episode can’t wipe you out.
