Default Nurses

Would love to hear from Nurses. We are coming to TV on Thursday the 27th. Staying in a villa since the preview plans were booked until March 22. Using an outside realtor to see multiple styles . Will be interested in where you work, what type of Nursing and staffing issues. Getting my Florida License . Are you happy at your hospitals? I need to work for a few more years. Husband will be on disablility. It will not stop him from golfing or fishing! We have 2 Cavachons

Thanks

I'm a nurse. When I applied for my FLA license it took quite awhile to get. I had to go to our local police dept and get finger printed. Also, PA is not a reciprocating state, therefore it took quite a long time to get all the paper work thru.

I hear there are plenty of jobs for nurses but what I see advertised in the papers are for LPNs specifically. I haven'y checked the hospital. The licensing process was quite lengthy and expensive. I'm an HIV certified nurse that I pay quite a bit of money and testing to maintain and still had to take an extremely basic test on HIV transmission for I think an additional $20. I also had to get fingerprinted, etc, for more money. In all it cost close to $300 but I want to maintain my license in case I find my dream job to go with my dream home. There's a nurses club that you could attend, meets monthly and it just met last week. I didn't find much in the way of networking, but it was my 1st time. There were about 200 attendees which really surprised me. Good luck and welcome!

There are open positions at the hospital but it all depends on what you want. On the Central Florida Health Alliance website there are listings for both The Villages and Leesburg Hospitals.
It took about 1 month to get my Florida license before I moved here but NH is a reciprocating state. It cost me about $300.00.
If you want to talk with someone about opportunities at the hospital, when you are down here call the hospital and ask for Team Member Services and they will put you in touch with the nurse recruiter. Good luck!
