Default Hilltop

After a short closure of courses due to Milton, they are slowly starting to reopen.

We played Hilltop on Wednesday, lucky to find an open tee time .

The course was in great shape and showed absolutely no sign that a hurricane had come through our area.

Greens were a little slow but in good condition. Fairways and areas around the greens were in great shape . Tee boxes were all very good as well.

Overall rating = A

I played there (Hill Top) last Wednesday; IF you DON'T hit the green on your tee shot, Kiss the golf ball goodbye, even if the ball sits 2 yards off the green...

Hopefully everyone tries their best to keep the courses in good shape by filling their divots and repairing two ball marks. It doesn’t take much. But I give it less than a month and the complaining about course conditions will start.

I guess you must not realize that from January to April, the conditions get worse.
Yes, more players are playing here, but those are the ones who care less about the conditions of the golf course; it's like a "hit-and-run" while heading back North...
So, before you jump off your seat, I would say this: Not all are that way, but a good number of them are.

I know that is the common complaint (snowbirds), but so many own homes here and it's hard to understand why they don't care about a community they have an investment in ? Perhaps the complaining is directed to those who rent ? But again, it hard to believe that seniors who spend every winter here, at the same community, would keep coming if they also only contributed to the decline of courses ? We're full time residents, and yet, when "snowbirds" are not here, I have seen unbelievable behaviors: non disabled driving ON the greens, individuals going INTO and OUT OF traps at the very highest point of the lip and collapsing the entire lip, dropping cigarettes and cigars on greens and THEN crushing them out completely and walking away, dragging flag poles across surface as they remove them, etc. etc. All makes me wonder, it is really the "up norths" who destroy our courses ? Do renters believe they do NOT actually pay for this amenity destruction (built into the rent) ? Don't know the answers, but have been watching what actually goes on for years, and seems plenty of blame to go around. Having "ambassadors" instead of marshals, definitely does not help ! "Ambassadors" sitting in carts watching all this, watching people T up as many as 4 ball, dragging their pull carts right onto the greens on the executive courses.... ambassador never take action ! It's all a mystery after all these years of full time residency ! ??

I have to say, you're right on!
Yes, We can put a little blame on the "Ambassadors" for doing or saying nothing at times...
Seen golf carts with no handicap designation IDs on Par 3 many times...
