Default Tree lighting LSL

I’ve lived here about 20 years and it still escapes me why the loud carnival games have a place here during the tree lightings. The only reason could be the boatload of $$ that is collected. Maybe that’s the price of annoyance. Still come, though. It’s a special thing to share with fellow Villagers!

Could they not at least wait until December before kicking off the Christmas celebrations?

Typically, the season starts after Thanksgiving. Plus, tomorrow is December 1.

Well, the tree is lit. Looks like TV were able to combine several holidays in one. Too bad DEI is now out of fashion. Guess we’ll be stuck with these new trees for a few years.

What does DEI have to do with it?

Carnival gigs don't make a "boatload of $$".

Reason, Carnival is entertainment for some.

Santa Claus officially begins the Christmas season when he appears at the end of the Thanksgiving Day parade. Retail stores officially begin the Christmas season at the end of August. LOL.

Poor attempt at humor in reference to the Hanukkah tree and inclusiveness. I just like traditional Christmas colors, red, green and white. Different strokes for different folks. No harm, just preference.

In my opinion, an “all inclusive Christmas tree” is just fine as long as we still recognize it as one. I just thought we went modern, on the abstract side, with this one at LSL. (I prefer not to make a joke of Christmas.)

Would be nice if they gave us a week after Thanksgiving to catch our breath - no need to squeeze everything in.

Doesn't even need to be done on a weekend - isn't that one of the benefits of our being retired?

Tell that to your early decorating neighbors, LOL

Not just "early" - some of them still have Hallowe'en stuff up - or maybe that is early for next year :-)
