Default Jim Nantz announces his retirement

Nantz announced that he'd like to continue broadcasting through the playing of the 100th Masters in 2036. That is April 14, 2036.

Oakmont has hosted the most US opens, this is #10.

Nantz is referring to the Masters.

The first Masters was played in 1934 but there was no tournament in 1943, 1944, and 1945, so 2036 will be the 100th.

The first US Open was held in 1895 but was canceled in WW1 and WW2. It will be held in Oakmont in 2033, 2042, and 2049.

Eleven years does seem rather excessive. I only gave my company 30 days’ notice.

I think you mean that 2036 will be the 100th.
