Default Best route from South Daytona to The Villages

We have some friends driving over from South of Daytona tomorrow and, looking at Mapquest, it's not clear what is the best route. Best being not too much traffic/lights (a la 441 thru Mt Dora) but pretty simple for folks who've never been here. Destination is Sabal Chase area S of 466.

Any suggestions?

Yahoo Maps would take you on I-4 to SR44 (or just get on SR44 if you're that far south of Daytona). SR44 west to CR 42 then turn left. Take that around 35-40 miles to Weirsdale then go left on CR25 which looks like it becomes Teague Trail when you get close to 27/441. Then go south on 27/441 for just about 1/4 mile which will bring you to 466. Turn right to head to TV.

Turn right from Westbound 44 to Westbound 42.

(also make right turn at 19 and one block later make left turn back to 44)

Good catch on the RIGHT turn from 44 to 42 - my bad. I also left out that jog on 19.....................but that's on CR42!

Two weeks ago we were coming back from Deland Airport watching our granddaughter jump out of an airplane and I decided to stay on 44 down to 441 in Eustis - BIG MISTAKE! It probably near doubled the travel time from Deland to Spanish Springs.

That one block jog on to 19 and back to 42 can be very confusing if you haven't done it a few times before.
