Default Obama's Unbelievable Mistake: Where is the media focus and disbelief?

Imagine this is President Bush. President Bush gives a speech in front of the Army's 10th Mountain Division at Fort Drum. He praises them and remarks how honored he is to serve as their Commander-in-chief. He then relates the story of how honored he was to present his first Congressional Medal of Honor to a member of their corp, and how meaningful it was for him, particularly because he didn't have to present it posthumously.

The only problem is, he did exactly that. Sgt. Jared Monti was killed in Afghanistan, and did in fact receive the medal posthumously.

What do you think the media's reaction to this would be? Do you think they'd be no significant coverage of this absurdity, and major mocking of our clueless President?

Well this in fact was done by President, and Commander-in-chief, Barrack Hussein Obama in front of and in honor of "his troops". He plain flat out didn't remember his own presentation of the first Congressional Medal of Honor that he ever gave out. That's how much the military and their sacrifices means to him.

He didn't remark on, as it's evident he didn't know, what Jared Monti did to warrant the bestowing of this prestigious award for valor. Why?; well the easy answer is that it wasn't written on the tele-prompter and if it's not on the tele-prompter it's not reality. But I'm not sure there's a prompter here, so it seems he's just clueless.

The least we can do for our honored dead is to remember them.

Same reaction as it would get here. They'd be all over it for days. Obama? Free pass.

What makes you think they aren't already against Mr. "Clueless"?

I believe it may have really taken effect around the time he referred to the Marine Corpse.

Obama has now officially apologized to the family of Sgt. Monti for his boneheaded error, and Sgt. Monti's family has graciously forgiven his mistake.

Do you think the talking heads on MSNBC and CNN and NBC and ABC and NBC would be having a field day bemoaning the stupidity and the disconnect of the President and Commander-In-Chief if his last name was Bush?

The President made a mistake. He apologized. The family accepted the apology. Let it go. Case closed.

It is certainly much less than George W. Bush did when he lied to the American public about weapons of mass destruction in Iraq.

Missing the point, as usual. Divert and distract even if it's apples and oranges. It's fine he apologized, but you wouldn't have let it go if it was Bush. Point taken? Of course not.

Default Much Ado About Nothing

Obama commits faux pas. Cost, an apology.

Bush ignores advise from Treasury Secretary O'Neil and Chairman of the Fed Alan Greenspan. Triggers don't go into the tax cut for millionaires to save the budget surplus. Cost, we go back to deficit spending.

Bush/Cheney make up lie about yellow cake from Nigeria. Cost, thousands of Americans dead and wounded and trillions added to the deficit.

Gentlemen, you debate inconsequential nonsense. Is this all that FOX News can feed you?

Don't let the Republicans give you a deadline for the demise of Medicare and SS. Grover Norquist was well paid to set this whole thing up.

Always nothing when it's Obama.

When a Republican leader, particularly a female Republican leader utters something questionable, and not even nearly as damaging as this faux pas of Obama's, it's full out "OMG!!; what an idiot; how can anybody take her seriously!!".

But you're right, there are far too many problems this country has to face to focus on another one of many Obama blunders.

We'll wait until Bachmann or Palin misstates an obscure history reference and then we'll have something important and worthwhile to crow about. "OMG!!, can you believe Republican's actually listen to this stupid girl; ha ha ha".

Seriously.

Typical G'Noper response. Try to shift the question. Assign blame to something that is not even part of the question.

Well, what can one expect when they have nothing to offer?

Exactly the point of the thread. Go back to the beginning. You're losing your touch Bugs.

TBug: What we can say with certainty is that we could not find WMD.

However, a WSJ article carried back in 2004-05, can't remeber date explained that on a specific evening just prior to America's troops reached Iraq, the Iraq Republican guard replaced syrian guards overnight and then returned to Iraq. I can live with people saying that there were no WMD's because I believe the sacrifaces in Iraq will pay off.

I was never a big fan of boots on the ground in Afghan because Russia went broke there. I do agree with CIA operations, Drone strikes and the like

Finally Iraq successfully buried airplanes in the desert and so a few truck loads of WMD wouldn't be problematic

That's a long way around of saying I am not convinced there were no WMD's
