Default Driveways

When we were down there for our Lifestyle Visit we noticed that there were a lot of beautiful driveways...we especially liked the ones that looked like tiny stones (different patterns). Is this process something that has to be done when the driveway is poured or is it a surface? Thanks!!

It's a surface and if I'm picturing the same thing you mentioned, it is called Tennessee River Rock.

We have it, mostly light brown in color called Chatahoochee River Rock. It's put on about 3/4" thick over the cement in an epoxy mix. Be prepared to have it sealed with epoxy every year for over $200 a shot or it will get hazy. We had our lanai as well as our driveway done with it and since the lanai is sheltered from the sun, it is fabulous. Love it, but expensive to keep looking nice.

I've seen someone cleaning driveways with some kind or rotary machine like a floor polisher. Has anyone done this? Does it do a good job?
