if we don't raise the debt ceiling, there will be a crisis. The American people (Tea Party) says we should not raise the debt ceiling.
Well, the stock market tanked today. Again, Obama's efforts to destroy the economy continues. Business is still not comfortable with the policies of the last two years. I hope we can vote this administration out before the whole economy collapses. |

Is that what you saw happening for the last month or so? You're laying blame for the inability of the Republicans and the Democrats and the Tea Party to compromise on the beginning of a program for cutting spending and fiscal reform on President Obama? Really?
I think you'd better get your eyes checked. |

The only good reason not to be worried about a 10% decline in the value of all the stocks and bonds traded in the financial markets is if you don't have any.

You really think the economy is tanking because we don't have enough Obama? We would be on our way to economic recovery if the Republicans would get out of the way of the spending and taxing? Really? I'm seriously trying not to laugh out loud. You gotta be trying for sarcasm. C'mon, really? |

Tell me if I didn't hear the President try to strike the "grand bargain" with John Boehner that was comprised of...
Kick the can down the road? Don't touch any controversial spending cuts. You betcha on both counts. You tell me which is the better deal for the country. Then tell me why President Obama should be criticized for putting it on the table. Go further and tell me why the Republicans shouldn't be criticized for turning down a clearly more responsible proposal. You and I both know the reason...because the GOP didn't want to do anything that might suggest that they were cooperating with the President. Forget the fact that the Congress is in the process of trashing the economy with the Rube Goldberg plan they came up with. And you want to blame the President? If it wasn't so tragic, it really would be a laugher. |

OK VK, if you say so. I have no faith in Obama and almost none in the leadership of the Houses. The only solutions and the only hope lie with the freshmen of the Houses. But, it's all going to come tumbling down because even supposedly smart people are backing a loser. Incredible.
addendum: I find your faith in the result of those future "spending cuts" (Yeah; that's gonna happen), the most hilarious part of your response. |

Cannot you see the forest from the trees? Nobody has faith in Obama unless you like socialism and wealth redistribution. Also, your wise cracks to people who disagree with you are tiresome. |

Voting for someone else in 2012 is what I'll almost certainly do. But I have to tell you that Republicans aren't making that decision any easier with the candidates that seem to be on their potential list. The prospect of a couple of them serving as President of still the most important country and economy in the free world are downright scary. Having said that, I will continue to point out when I think that simply blind criticism of the President is an incorrect assignment of blame. If anything, what has surprised me during his term of office so far is how powerful Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid have turned out to be, particularly Pelosi. An objective assessment of what Obama was and wasn't able to accomplish so far is probably more properly assigned to Pelosi--both good and bad. (Although the 'good' list isn't too long.) |

As far as GOP candidates for 2012, Romney is the best hope. Fall-back would be Giuliani. They would not be my first choice, but of those in contention, they are the best of the. So many of the candidates threaten to ask GOD to help make presidential decisions and that is very weird and scary. Do these "" think GOD is interested in the stock market. Some would vote against Obama even if his opponent was an ex-convict named Red Neckerson. Please people, don't wish for a half backed narrow minded option. Obama is far to liberal in my opinion, but under current world conditions, I feel he is doing an outstanding job. Now thats my judgment of the situation and I'm sticking to it. ![]() I am done with this post, so have your way with it. |
