Should we not want to help the weak and the poor? Is it possible that when the bible was translated into the King James version, they got that part wrong? When did we start to worship ME and respect the Greedy? When we make enough people poor and hungry, they will be coming through our door one way or the other. The vast majority of people want to be safe and OK. Only the wicked are concerned about having enough and wanting more more more. If, like me, you live in The Villages, you are already on the top of the HAVE pile. Lighten up and share your fortune. Have you never noticed an old woman walking to her cleaning job along side of the highway as you drove by in your Cadillac. Are you the type that use a calculator to figure your tip in a restaurant to be sure not to exceed the 15% amount? If the Bible is correct, there will be more wealthy folks in hell than poor. So let it be. Just my early morning opinion, don't be too upset with me. I may be wrong and was simply born with to much Charity in my heart. I know this will bring HES A SOCIALIST comments. I really am not, I just feel if we can't help each other in times of need, we have lost a big part of our most important humanity.

Not only in the King James version of sacred scripture but in the Douay Rhiemes as well. (The Roman Catholic version of the Bible)

They both say that it is easier for a camel to fit through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to get to heaven.

Strictly interpreted we all should take the vow of poverty and join a monastic order.

It is a difficult for most of us to live comfortably when we know that people are doing without.

It is difficult to work and live inside of our income and teach our children and grandchildren to work for what they get when people just don't work and break into homes and steal things from people who would NOT steal.

It is difficult to know that the money we pay in taxes goes to people who really need it because they are weak and poor and to people who do not need it because they are lazy and on drugs.

It is difficult to legislate morality.

You're not a socialist......you're a caring human being.

Caring human beings help people and encourage others to do the same. They do not require by the rule of law that their neighbors sacrifice their own families welfare in service to another's.

You cannot be generous and self-sacrificing with someone else's money.

I know most people will do what is right without hesitation....most of the time.
Regarding helping those with less or the truly needy is we have become overwhelmed with the ME folk.....the free loaders...
Their numbers totally obscure reality. The politician will certainly not entertain stricter limitations...that would not be very vote worthy.

How many of you know folks that are collecting food stamps that are not truly needy? How about those unemployed that CHOOSE to be to continue the unemployment handout? How about somebody getting medical assistance from the government that should not be? How about anybody getting veterans benefits that are in fact wealthy but have a loophole?

The above are but a small sampling of programs that pay as much or more every day to those NOT in real need.

That is the problem. Allowed to continue by politicians who need to get re-elected. And worst of all, tolerated by we the people...WE wouldn't want to upset a free loader would WE?

As with most problems of a social nature....very easy to fix....WE just don't!!!
