Default On Wisconsin, grand old badger state

Even though I am disappointed with the results of the recall elections, a gain of two is better than none. The people have spoken and democracy has once again worked. And the sun even rose again this morning.

Just to recall 6 elected officials says something. But it cost between 30 and 40 million to save 4 seats. Keep in mind that those are victories in strongly Republican controlled districts. The Dems needed 3 to regain control. Maybe a moderate Republican could support the working class. In due time.

Why haven't they recalled the Governor?

Anyone read anything in the news about what's been happening to the WI economy and budget since the republicans took control and bill was passed?

Don't let the facts get in the way...

I believe I heard something about new budget surpluses and actually more teachers being hired now.

I don't know the exact figure but I think they were at least a few billion in the hole... before the evil conservatives took control and the democrat legaslators fled the state.

The Governor had to be in office for one complete year before a recall could be effected. It is still a very real possibility.

The Madison newspapers are abuzz, and being Madison, the government-dependent leftists are raving again about the millions of dollars spent on the campaigning by their opponents.

Money does not move the citizen's hand as it is about to punch the name on ballot card. Yes, money can convince people who are too lazy to read that lies are truth to them. But in the end, every person in the privacy of that voting booth punches that card as THEY choose to.....and that is their RIGHT, to choose as they wish to.

The Badgers I know ALL have a mind of their own and it is extremely insulting to imply that they all vote republican only because some big shots (Geo. Soros counterparts) spent lots of money on campaigning.

And if the lazy leftists really cared about the state functioning smoothly and in the overall best interests of the citizenry, they would grow up and wait for the next election, instead of paralyzing the next year trying to recall Walker. Many fail to accept that Jim Doyle and crew in the dem legislature had their chance for years, and now people with common sense are being given a chance to bring back the concept of SOLVENCY.
