Default Disney Employment?

Has anyone ever worked for Disney and lived in TV? I have seen it mentioned on other forums that they hire seasonal employees.

True, they do hire seasonal employees - but with the economy being as it has been for the last few years, Disney's hiring has been down. Kinda tough to get your foot in the door. My sister and husband work there part-time in the winters. Took them several years of persistence to finally make it happen.

My bad - I missed the part about 'live in TV' in the original post. Sorry! Pass the dunce hat this way.......

They spend their winters in Davenport - lots closer to Disney.

No problem. I just wondered if that was what you meant. When I first read the original question, the driving distance is what came to my mind. I know people drive long distances for work. But it does seem like a long drive to-and-from work from TV to Disney properties.

I have friends who just retired about two years ago. They rented in TV for awhile and then moved to a rental on Disney property. The place is small and very affordable. The have the upgraded annual passes which allows them to play golf everyday and have access to all the parks. They go to the concerts at Epcot, eat dinner in the park when they want, go to the waterpark and sit and read...they love it there, but will be buying in TV eventually.

Where they live is really housing for Disney employees.

I know of one person who lives in The Villages and works full time at Disney. He is an IT Specialist and commutes every day to and from The Villages and Disney.

One of our neighbors drives one of the Friendship boats across the lake in Epcot. As far as I know he drives back and forth each day. I don't think he works but 3 days a week. He loves it.
