The lovely Diane and I hoped to sell our house and buy in TV before winter, and we may still, but it is September now and the house-buying season will be grinding to a halt soon here in the northeast.

It is kinda late to start looking for a rental for Jan-Feb-Mar 2012 but if you just bought a place and need to rent it out this winter send me a PM.

I can give you names of veteran TOTV members we know who can vouch for us.

We will pay all three months up front. So if you need to pay for all that new furniture or that new golf cart please get in touch.

..................word to the wise.........Call The Villages Sales Office to VERIFY that you are sending your....$$$$$$....to someone who is AUTHORIZED to RENT OUT the property....(and the county Property Appraisers' website to find owner of record...AND contact the owner of record)...Believe it or not.........it HAS happened.....Nothing like showing up to THE PROPERTY........and waiting...YAWN..and waiting...YAWN...and waiting for the non-existant person to hand you the key and do the required "walkthrough" and "digital images of condition" and "written condition report" ritual--- upon your arrival...........I am NOT smart enough to figure out how the heck it went down...but there was a person who sent a security deposit and a first month rent....only to find out that the owners' grand-daughter had an EX-Boyfriend who was a very smooth talker.......always remember...."TRUST ----BUT VERIFY".

Thanks for the advice. I rented last year, did my due diligence and made out OK financially, but the rental unit was shabby and the cart was junk. Some things you can't really tell by looking at photos.
