Default Homosassa Springs ideas

We are thinking of heading out to the Park. Any ideas for food, things to stop by on the way there or back? Things we should take with us? Or anything else?
Thanks

Don't forget bug spray (it is woodsy). Try to get there by 3:00. That is when the last departure is for the boat ride from the main entrance on Hwy 19 to the park (I think). After the last boat ride, you would have to take the shuttle train which runs all day.

Here is a link to a brochure:

Default Our trip out there

We combined our trip out there with dinner at:

Stumpknockers Restaurant on the Withlacoochee River
13821 SW Highway 200 Dunnellon, FL 34432 352.854.2288

......about 1/2 hour up the road.

Great fishcamp type restaurant - Catfish dinners were great. Got all you can eat and 1st plate had enough to bring home for another meal.

Well worth the trip up there.

There is a lot of walking - about 1-2 miles if you do the entire springs area so be prepared. There are benches to rest but not that many. It is a fun day.

Since Homosassa Springs is not that far away, we did not need to stop any where to eat so I cannot give you any restaurant locations. Sorry.

The Monkey Bar Clam Chowder

Traveling North to Crystal River
