Default Villagers Gallagher and Danforth Play Well in Golf Tour Event

Howey-in-the-Hills, FL—Village of Largo’s Tom Gallagher recorded his first win on the Senior Amateur Golf Tour of North Central Florida on Monday, Sept. 12 with a 77 in the Championship Flight, on the El Campeon course at Mission Inn Resort. George Danforth, a resident of the Village of Summerhill, played 18 holes well and had his best round in several tournaments with a 99; however, he was bested in a sudden-death playoff by John Tayman of Deltona, FL,
Gallagher played steady golf all day; but, parring the back nine that was set up by two birdies, clinched the win. “I played pretty solid on the back side,” he said.
Danforth has won once before on Tour and said “It sure would have been nice to have that second Tour victory.”
The Tour’s next tournament is Monday, Sept.26 at Julliette Falls in Dunnellon, FL. For more information contact: Jim Castello, 352-446-3446; or, email at ncflorida@amateurgolftour.net.
