I don't know if you read Thomas Sowell's diatribe against Obama's Jobs Plan in today's (Thursday 9/15) Daily Sun but it is quite evident that anyone who is against more stimulus spending and increases in taxes must be coming from a racist. Because we all know that more government invovlement, more taxes and more union involvement in business can only create more jobs...its common sense. The public sector creates both growth and wealth and the private sector has always been suboridiante to the public sector

Hey, we all know that politicians can "grow the economy."

"Taking money from the private sector and spending it wherever it is politically expedient to spend it- so long as they call spending "investment."

It was a great piece by Mr. Sowell.

LOL Its always been that way, but you can have the Orlando paper delivered. They are more the other direction. Before management change here on TOTV, Liberals were often kicked off the board for their political views, so you see things are looking up for liberals. Hang in there. There you go again demonize it rather than addressing the issue.

How is it that an Economics Professor (Emeritus) essentially states Obama's economic policies are a disaster? Why is it that after he introduced his Job Plans a poll taken 51% of the population disagreed and essentially said same old same old.

We know that Thomas Sowell's reasons for denigrating Obama's policies are not racial but based on an understanding of good economic policies.

Why is it so difficult to understand that if a stimulus package twice the size didn't recover jobs an amount one half that size is going to be far less effective?

How is he going to pay for this why taxing the wealthy, which by the way he didn't reveal and was uncovered after the fact.

So he is going to reduce tax deduction from the wealthy including chartiable donations. So that means that money which would go to needy people will no longer reach them. And remeber that one constant with the government.
If it is spending the projected costs will be continually raised. and if it is taxing the percentage will increase and the number of taxpayers pulled in will rise proportionally so that folks like you and I will be defined as the "more wealthy Americans" But then its fair after all those 51% not paying taxes and illegal immigrants should proportionally share in this redistribution.

I know. I just love it here, but I think the Daily Sun is too far to the left for my taste.

TVII...some of us who were here during the pre 2008 election campaign would disagree with your assessment:

I thought they handled the rowdies (both R & D) pretty well. The state of the political forum always seems to be something to be wagged by the writer to suit their purpose(s).

Yes, I am just so tired of liberals playing the race card everytime someone disagreed with Obama's policies. Thomas Sowell is a well respected intellectual who practically begged his readers not to vote for Obama. He is a self made man from the African-American community. He has had a number of articles critical of a nanny governments. Hence my original comments regarding his article in the Daily Sun. Simply stated liberals can get a way with calling Sowell's comments racist. They are forced to address/rebut what sowell said. However they can't
