Default Racists??; Let's explore real racism a little.

There was a little controversy on another thread started by our resident Democrat liberals calling everyone who disagrees with them racists and acting like it's a given. I can point to many social programs enacted by Democrats which have impacted the African-American community to their detriment.

But how about if I just let high profile Democrats speak their own words.

Biden is taking some heat for comments he made to the New York Observer, in which he said of Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., a rival for the nomination: "I mean, you got the first mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy. I mean, that's a storybook, man."http://abcnews.go.com/Politics/story?id=2838420&page=1

Or how about this:

"...Washington Post’s treatment of the revelation of remarks made by Sen. Harry Reid during the 2008 Presidential campaign:

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) apologized today for referring to President Barack Obama as “light skinned” and “with no Negro dialect” in private conversations during the 2008 presidential campaign.

“I deeply regret using such a poor choice of words,” said Reid in a statement. “I sincerely apologize for offending any and all Americans, especially African Americans for my improper comments.”

Poor choice of words? Exactly what other combination of words could Sen. Reid have used to convey his point? And what, exactly, was his point anyway?......

Which got me thinking about Trent Lott.

You remember him, right? The former Mississippi Senator was Senate Majority Leader back in 2002. Attending a birthday party for then Sen. Strom Thurmond, Sen. Lott made an idiotic statement:

‘When Strom Thurmond ran for president, we voted for him. We’re proud of it. And if the rest of the country had followed our lead, we wouldn’t have had all these problems over all these years, either.”

In 1948, Strom Thurmond ran a third-party campaign for President, based largely on a pro-segregation platform. As you can imagine, a firestorm ensued.

Kweisi Mfume, then President of the NAACP said that Lott’s remarks were:
“the kind of callous, calculated, hateful bigotry that has no place in the halls of Congress”

Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee (D-TX) said:
“It was shocking…a piercing voice through the fabric of black America”

Sen. John Kerry (D-MA) went even further:
”I simply do not believe the country can today afford to have someone who has made these statements again and again be the leader of the United States Senate”

It will be curious to see if Sen. Kerry thinks the country can afford to have Sen. Reid as leader of the Senate.

Reid’s remarks also got me thinking about former Virginia Sen. George Allen. Running for reelection in 2006, the called out to a Democrat campaign operative at an event, calling him “macacca”, an obscure french-colonial insult, generally thought to mean “monkey.” (The operative was of indian descent.)....."

WHO ARE THE REAL RACISTS?-Star Parker wrote a book about her experience under the government’s thumb called Uncle Sam’s Plantation. The book is a must-read for anyone who claims to be “open minded” and “liberal” because it challenges America to live up to its liberal ideals.

-"As a young (African-American) woman I was on welfare myself. I saw from inside the perverse and destructive culture it created. A dehumanized culture of dependence and irresponsibility that encourages behavior exactly the opposite of what a successful life demands."...
-"It is not liberal or progressive to perpetuate the dehumanizing and degrading welfare state, though it is certainly in the best interests of the Democratic politicians who perpetuate it. The overseers of the plantation know that the degradation of those in your “care” ensures subservience."...
-"Instead of solving economic problems, government welfare socialism created monstrous moral and spiritual problems. The kind of problems that are inevitable when individuals turn responsibility for their lives over to others. The legacy of American socialism is our blighted inner cities, dysfunctional inner city schools, and broken black families. Through God’s grace, I found my way out. It was then that I understood what freedom meant and how great this country is."

You might want to read "The Long, Sad, Violent History of Democrats' Racial Hatred for Blacks"; an essay written by Toogood Reports contributor and "Best of the Web" award-winning writer Perry Drake, who is a professional journalist in Plainfield, Ill. He is a great American conservative who writes with a unique perspective on the issues of the day.

Default Worth reading the entire article

At a 2004 meeting in Washington, D.C., commemorating the 50th anniversary of Brown v. Board of Education, comedian and actor Bill Cosby made some remarks that were sharply critical of the African American poor.

-Cosby was clearly trying to connect with a message that black poverty would only end when and if black people themselves took responsibility for changing their lives.

-Up to now, liberal Democrats, who have defined the politically correct themes that may be expressed without criticism, have largely owned the terms of the debate. Anyone arguing themes of black responsibility, even if the critics are themselves African Americans, runs the risk of being labeled as racists, part of the problem, not the solution.

I can hardly wait until I hear one of these posters say the classic line, "I have a black friend." ... or friends, co-workers, adopted child, etc.

Guess they would have to turn in their Tea Party green card at that point.

Great response my friend. You have nothing, absolutely nothing. All I can say to you and your malignant new ally is "Checkmate".

Richie,

Your correct response should be, "I concede, sir".

Of course, I will take an ice-cold Yeungling a week from Monday. Going away to Palm Beach with the missus for 38th anniversary next week.

Yes, Golfer, Richie and I see past this political forum and found a friendship based on personal attributes. We do enjoy getting in each other's face a little but it is in good nature.

This is just sparring VG. You can't judge a total person just on one aspect of their beliefs.

Buggy's got my back if I need him for anything that's important. No matters what happens in the elections, we need sustenance and we need friends. I dread living without either.

Except for the "I concede" nonsense. (you know me better than that )

I concur.

I have plenty of conservative friends that I trust and know that they have my back. I think I can get a decent enough profile to know that having a drink with the likes of Tbugs would be distasteful to say the least. But I have been known to be wrong, and liberals do have a use. What is that expression about useful......... Ah, never mind.
