You've probably read the news reports of the killing of Anwar al-Awlaki, a Muslim cleric who was an American citizen operating out of Yemen. His "elimination" using CIA-operated drones, the first such attack inside Yemen since 2002, was much discussed and debated within the CIA and the administration. Clearly, the final decision was that of the POTUS.

There were probably many liberal "rights" activists within the administration that argued against the killing of an American citizen only accused of treasonous activities, but not convicted. There were probably many more that argued against taking such action on the soil of a foreign country.

My guess is there are very few, if any, who post on tbis forum who would differ with the decision to kill al-Awlaki...I know I wouldn't. Having said that, I think it's only fair to give credit to President Obama for issuing the order to kill al-Awlaki.

There are lots of things that Obama does and has supported that many of us don't agree with. This isn't one of them.

I think you are giving Obama too much credit again. Most of the money and policies that are in effect today was spent and implemented under President Bush. Give the darn credit where it is rightfully due!!!

If you read the article, both the capability to execute such an attack and the authorization of the attack itself happened within the last year...long after George Bush retired to his ranch in west Texas. The secret base from which the drone attack was launched and the authority for the killing was approved within the last year.

OK VK, I'm with you........Yay President Obama, you allowed something good to happen...Yay!!

I didn't say it changed anything. I just suggested that if the guy does something--or if something good happens on his watch--he ought to get the credit. Lord knows he (and every other President in recent times) gets enough criticism for things they have little to do with other than being boss when they happen.

I am with you 100 % VK. Some folks on here are still upset that Jesus used 5 loaves of bread and two fish to feed the multitude and we call it a miracle. They think it was a liberal welfare hand out program. I hope this will help dispel the rumors that Obama is a radical Islamic supporter.

Anyone who is a student of the Islamic religion and their Quran knows the truth, that Islam teaches that deception is encouraged if it gets you what you want. JMHO

Exactly. For crying out loud, he is in full campaign mode. He and other politicians would sell their miserable souls to get re-elected. Obama will be telling war stories in paid for television advertisements.

We rarely turn ours on and when we watch something, it is recorded so we do not watch commercials. I do watch Bill O'Reilly once in a while live.

Would that be the same New York Times who after 9/11 hailed Al-Awlaki as one of a "new generation of Muslim leader capable of merging East and West"- NYT.

I won't hold my breath waiting for a mea culpa.

Other liberal rags from the mainstream media joined the praise of the emerging terrorist applauding him as a moderate after 9/11 and giving him credibility.

It is interesting to note that criticism of Obama's decision, with rare exception, is coming from the liberal left. Romney, Perry, Peter King and others have praised the President's decision. Ron Paul is the most conspicuous exception.

I do not think that Obama does anything that will not promote his name and help him win the 2012 election.

Obama is out to get all of the votes that he can and this plus "his killing on Bin Laden" will probably glean him some votes.

On the other hand, his killing of an "innocent until proven guilty" US citizen will lose him some votes.

As far as I am concerned, they took too long to put Al-Awlaki where he belonged.

Those 72 virgins have to be really tired after all of the customers we have sent their way.

Thats not new. Every religion around the world teaches deception. It is the basis for all religions to lie to the members to keep them in line. Christianity is no exception. We start by telling our children if they are not good, they will go to hell. How sick is that?

?????????????? I am a Christian and have never said to my children OR anyone "if they are not good, they will go to hell". I challenge you to pick up the Christian's Love Letter from God to His Children (aka Bible) and find out for yourself if that is what Chrisitanity teaches. Let me know where you find that doctrine, if you dare.

Thank you for the good info. It is nice to know from the expert that no mater what we do, we will be rewarded with a final life in heaven. I was always told that if you die with your sin, you will forever burn in hell. You pointing out how wrong that is, makes me feel much better. I drink beer and don't always ask forgiveness before going to sleep. Knowing I will not go to hell if I die in my sleep is a great relief.
