When Fear Takes Over...

I think I've posted three articles here entitled something like "Watch Greece". The thrust of my opinion has been that unless we get our fiscal crisis in check, what's happening in Greece is likely to happen here. Now it looks like I may have been wrong. It's going to happen here sooner.

When fear takes over, numbers are meaningless. Americans are facing a crisis that they haven’t created, which they are unprepared for, and which they are barely aware of. While it happens our Congress remains in a polarized, ideologically split and totally unproductive state of stalemate. And Americans are so oblivious that they'll be surprised when the financial train wreck happens to them.

Here's an article that you probably should read to get a view on what you see happening to your 401k and investment accounts. Just in case you haven't noticed the markets are down 20% and are at a several year low. As I write this the markets are scheduled to open in another 15 minutes and further market declines are expected.
