Default Accident at Morse and Rio Grande

Does anyone know what happened at the intersection of Morse Bld. and Rio Grande this afternoon? We came by there around 3:ish and there was a golf cart up on the grass, parts lying on the ground. There must have been 4 police cars there, sheriffs dept. and state police. I didn't see anyone who looked like a victim in this crash but feel that he or she may already have been transported to a hospital.

Yes, a little article with all of the usual facts missing. What harm would it do to report what happens in these accidents?

Default Be fair

With injury accidents, the police often take awhile to complete their investigation and issue citations - they don't usually interview the injured person at the scene, and they may wait for witnesses to come forward. By the time they complete the report, it's old news.

But, I agree, would be nice to know more details, if only to make drivers more aware of what can happen and to drive more safely and defensively in both cars and golf carts.

Do you really think it would make any difference if you knew all the details? Didn't stop, drifted into the wrong lane, didn't signal, ran the light...............

Actually, that is a terrible traffic pattern at that intersection. An auto has to cross the golf cart path in order to get into the right hand turn lane. We have always thought that it is an accident waiting to happen. I personally have seen a few near misses.

The Daily Sun is the only paper I have read that reports generic accident information. Even if an accident has not been completed information such as a two vehicle accident, 2 injured when one of the vehicles crossed the middle line, ran a red ight, etc. appear in most papers

Is it the paper's policy or simply poor reporting by the reporter I'll leave to others to decide. Personally I find no pleasure in witnessing or hearing about train wrecks.

Does not matter who was a fault except for the civil law suit. The smaller vehicle, golf cart, will always be the ones who get hurt. When you are driving your golf cart, you have to watch cars, trucks and anything else that is bigger than you.

Don't forget about the smaller vehicles, motorcycles or scooters. I have seen many people on bicycles with the cooler weather, gotta watch 'em all!

Yes it would!! If I happen to be driving my cart in that area I would like to know what caused the accident so I could watch my a** when I was driving my cart in that area.

Did the guy in the cart NOT merge into the traffic lane like he was supposed to or did a car make a right or a left without looking?

Inquiring minds WOULD like to know.
