Does anyone know of any type of restrainer being produced to keep pets (dog) safe & inside the golf cart while riding in same ?

We will be arriving on Oct. 28 to move into our new home and be frogs in the wonderful place known as the villages.

I'm assuming you're talking about dog(s). We put harnesses on ours and then secured them on the seat with leashes (chain ones) with the leash attached to the basket behind the seats. The leash was secured in such a way that it was short enough that they could go no further than almost to the edge of the seat. Worked great and they were really happy to get their rides. Alex knew where the harnesses were and would go sit by them every afternoon until he got his ride. (If you decide to do it this way, be sure to use a harness and not a collar.)

We lost each of them at 17 (1 year apart). Riding was one of their favorite things to do.

Hope this helps and welcome to all of you.

How big is your dog? I have a couple of suggestions for small dogs.

We also use harnesses, NOT collars ever, when our dogs go carting. And leashes to secure the harnesses. Exactly as Dillywho described. We have one 10 lb dog and one 70 lb dog.

The dog is approx 30 lbs. and quite active. Loves riding in a car but has never been in a golf cart. Would love to hear your ideas

My dog is more comfortable riding in a pet seat attached to the golf cart seat, rather than just sitting on the golf cart seat itself. It keeps him from slipping and sliding, and it also keeps his feet and butt from sliding through the crack between the back and bottom seat cushions on the the cart. Pet seats usually have a strap sewn into the seat that can be hooked onto a harness. And they also have straps to secure the the seat to the golf cart

There is at least one pet seat made specifically for golf carts. If you do a google search for “Snoozer Lookout Pet Golf Cart Seat”, several sites will come. If you want to see one in person, I saw the small size version in the pet store down at LSL, but your dog would need the large size, and even that might be too small. I have the Lookout pet seats for my car and they are very high quality, but they are pricey and they are also “booster seats” and I didn’t want my dog to sit up that high in the golf cart.

For the golf cart I went with a less expensive pet seat that I bought at Petsmart. It is designed for a car, but the straps work just as well for securing it to the golf cart. The one I got would definitely be too small for a 30 lb. dog though. I only use the pet seat when I’m riding alone with my dog. When there are two humans onboard my dog sits between us and I roll up a towel and put it in the crack between the seats. I agree with the others, always use a harness when riding in a cart. Even if you don’t have the leash secured to the golf cart, in the event of an accident the leash could get hung up on something and in that case you would not want it attached to his neck via a collar.

I bought the Snoozer car seat and buckle it into my golf cart. It comes with a restraint that hooks right on the harness that my dog wears. She loves it..

Default Harness

Hi there, I purchased what they call a "car seat" at Pet Smart. It is a harness where you can run your seat belt in your car through it and keep your pet safe. We originally bought it for the car but our boy Jack rides in the golf cart more than the car. I have a three foot lease attached to the basket of my golf cart and I hook the harness to that and Jack rides safely all around The Villages. Jack is a larger dog and weighs about 80 lbs.
Good luck
