Default I love reading about things like this!

(See photos below) Lily is a Great Dane (in England, I think) who lost both of her eyes due to an incurable condition when she was 18 months old. She originally lived with her sister dog, Maddison, and the two of them have been at a shelter for the past 5 years, after their owner was no longer able to take care of them.

Maddison and Lily are inseparable, with Maddison acting as Lily's seeing eye dog. She always walks close to her and touches her to lead her around. Madison guides Lily by the leash and touches her to make sure she doesn't stumble over anything. The picture reveals how dependent and loving they are to each other. They sleep together and play and bark just like normal dogs.

But every time someone visited the shelter, they were overlooked because they're big dogs, come as a pair and one was blind.

Until recently!!

After the story of Lily and Maddison went global, hundreds of people suddenly offered to open their homes to the big doggies.

A spokesperson for the shelter said: "Where before not one person came forward to give them a home, we've now got hundreds of people from across the world that want to take them in. It looks like they possibly – not confirmed – may have found the right home and could be going home this weekend."

Animals show us so much about the 'power of love'!
