Talking We did it!

Hi we are Bonnie and Bob and I can finally say that we did it. We were down for our first visit a few weeks ago and bought a place in Pennecamp. I still can't believe all this has happened. We were on that visit just to look as I had already booked a rental for Jan Feb and Mar. We both decided that three months wouldn't be enough so we jumped right in and bought a little patio villa to get us started. We still have the home in CT and are going to wait awhile to see how things go with the market and the struggle to own two homes. I have enjoyed reading the TOTV for over a year. Now I finally have something to say .. Yeah. Looking forward to meeting some of you wonderful people soon. We will be coming down right after Christmas with our girl Bella a one year old Airedale Terrier.

Welcome and Congratulations!

I'm sure you're surprised that you bought a place during your first visit, but so many here have done the same thing....you're in good company!

Have fun getting your new place just the way you want it!

Congratulations on your buying a home. Bringing the checkbook seems to really work.

Best wishes as you start living the dream.

Hello and welcome from a former New Englander. Pennecamp was out in "cow country" when we bought 13+ years ago. In fact, Polo Ridge and the northern territory now known as "Lopez" was nothing more than undeveloped farmland. The dirt roundabout where the Savannah Ctr. sits now went nowhere. Rt. 466 was a two-lane country road that cut through fields where buffalo roamed. It has been an absolute joy to watch this place grow. I hope that many years from now you will still be in as much awe as I am. You just made one of the best purchases of your life! I wish you all the best.

Smile Thank you for all the good wishes

Just want to say thank you for all your good wishes. We can't wait to get out of the snow. Can't believe I am saying that already it's not even winter yet. I have started my many lists of things to bring and things to buy once we are there. Also could use some advice on closing a home in the North East for the winter. What do some of you snowbirds do when closing up? Until we feel the warmth of the sun enjoy it for us.

Congrats, welcome to The Villages and to TOTV. It's pretty hard to not love TV, so come down as often as you can and enjoy every second.
