Default New Villagers

Hi All....

I apologize, I just realized that I haven't introduced ourselves...We are Dawn, Don and "our children" Fritz our dachshund and cat Spaz. We closed on our house in November but did not move down until Don retired in August. I have found such valuable information on this site and am very grateful to each and every one of you.

We moved from Wisconsin however keeping our home in Waupaca and will go back to celebrate Christmas with the family and for the summer...I am taking "baby steps" as my children and grandchildren are still there.

Thank you again for all of your posts! I hope to contribute as much as I can.

Dawn

Dawn, Don and fur kids, Welcome to TOTV. And go Badgers (my niece goes to school at U-W Madison so I hear that often).

Spaz -- what a great name for a cat.

Smile Questions

Hi Dawn and Don

We are in the same place have purchased in tv and must keep our place in Ct.
Will be coming down in late Dec. My question is about closing up the house up here. Any tips or info about what to do re heat, water, etc would be helpful. I have daughter locally, but don't want to burden her with too much regarding my home. I too am having some difficulty with being away from my dear grandkids for too long. Enjoy TV and the wonderful lifestyle. Bonnie & Bob

Welcome Bonnie and Bob...
Well, talked with my husband and this is what he did: turned off the water heater (gas) turned our heat down to 50, and unplugged anything electronic. My daughter and son are periodically stopping by to check on things...we also arranged to have the snow removed if needed. We are going to be there for Christmas and if we need to change anything we will find out then.
I found that skyping helps with missing the kids/grandkids...my youngest grandson is 2 1/2 and loves it!
Where did you buy in the Villages?

Thumbs up Thanks

Hi
We bought a little patio villa in Pennecamp. It is only a year old and turnkey so we won't have to worry about moving lots of stuff yet. Thanks for the tips on cosing up, sounds like that's what we will do. We are really looking forward to getting down and starting all the fun. We will be bringing our canine kid Bella a young Airedale who loves everyone. Hope to meet you soon. Bonnie&Bob

Well, we may just be neighbors as we are in Pennecamp also. We would love to meet you when you make it down, and maybe our fur kids can play... See you soon!
