Default Thanksgiving dining out

If you are planning to go out for Thanksgiving dining, where are you going and why?

I was thinking of taking my dad and his wife to Havana for their buffet. I am interested to hear that there may be a better place to go.

Better check to make sure they will be open. Lots of places are closing for Thanksgiving. IMAGINE THAT!!!!

I'd stay away from the Waterfront Inn, we went there last year, way over priced for average meal at best!

We (group of 6) have gone twice to the Lakeview Inn in Mt. Dora for Thanksgiving. Good food, great service, very festive, you do need a reservation.

Agree on Waterfront Inn - very average food, $70 for 2, and as I remember, did not include coffee. Speckled Butterbean would have been better.

We went to Palmer last year and it was fantastic and reasonably priced. About $18 for Turkey, dressing, starch, veg, and dessert; Might have included a salad too.

We're going back again this year....

Default Katie Belles is OUT!

We took our family to Katie Belles for a turkey Christmas dinner and I sure would not recommend that to anyone. Everything tasted and looked like it was right out of a box!

I have had some good meals at Havana but not lately. We took friends there last Sunday for their Sunday Brunch and it was awful. When you got to the buffet there was a literal "pile" of stale breads that looked like they had been stuffed back in bread bags and tied with a knot. You had to find a way to open the "knot", get your bread (or bagel) out with your hands and toast it. Scrambled eggs were dry (but you could order eggs cooked your way). There was no one at the "carving station" so you had to cut your own slice of ham. Overall I'd give it a 2 on a scale of 1 -10. I expected more at $12.99.

We have reservations at Palmer's. We've heard great things about it. Called a couple of weeks ago and didn't have a problem making a reservation

Has anyone eaten at Cattlebarron's for Thanksgiving? I have not ever eaten there. Any thoughts? WE also have a reservation at Palmer. Which to choose?

Go to Golden Corral. They have a good buffet for about $10, which includes both turkey and normal foods (steak, ham, chicken, Mexican food, Italian food, etc).

They also have a good salad bar and numerous deserts.
