We have visitors coming in this weekend and are thinking about taking them to Polo on Sunday. Since we can't commit them ahead of time, guess we will take our chances on buying tickets "at the gate".
So, questions... If a Villages residents buys tickets at the gate for themselves and their guests, are all charged the resident rate? They used to do this...but, now, they only publish resident and non-resident rates...nothing about guests. Also, has anyone ever encountered a problem getting a ticket on game day to do the golf cart/tailgate option? Are the grandstand seats reserved individual seats or first come first serve for those ticketholders? The Polo/ticket phone number kicks you over to the Box Office. I will try to stop by the box office and get answers but sometimes the line is out the wazoo so I know I can depend on you good people for all the answers. Thanks!!!

If you tailgate and don't get your tickets in advance, you will get a reserved spot at the far ends of the field. The people in the best spots in the middle have purchased tickets in advance. The far ends are fine when the play is at your end of the field but when the action is at the other end,it is difficult to see.It is still enjoyable anyway as you have the of the tailgating experience especially if you take "goodies".

07,
Not sure how they charge guests. You pay more to sit up in the grandstand and I don't like being that far from the horses. Get their early and get chairs on the bottom of the grandstand or bring your own. Grandstand has food, bar and good bathrooms. Get a program that are also in the bottom of grandstand. Bring binoculars so you really can see the pushing and shoveling between horses. Have fun. |
