Angry Hacienda CC SLOW PLAY

I know it is probably futile to post this but I am going to anyway. We played there today teeing off at 12:41....it didn't take long before on a par 4 hole, there were FOUR sets of golfers at various points of play. This continued for the next several holes with an incredible stacking of players. The Ambassador came around and asked about water and sand...I asked him if he had a TV we could watch while we waited to play (I was very friendly). He shrugged his shoulders and left. I left the course after 12 holes of wait, wait, wait.....Don't these Ambassadors have the power to move up slow players like they used to do?

You know better than to ask that question. If they upset some golfers and they complain at the pro shop the ambassador could end up getting fired, it has happened in the past.
Might as well get used to it, there are lifestyle visitors, renters, on the championship courses that should be on the front tees on the execs. They get those free rounds.................

In November I've played two rounds each at about noon time at Havana, Mallory and Cain and it has taken almost exactly the same 4 hours and 25 minutes at each. I'm not thrilled with that, but I've gotten use to 4+25, if for some reason it were to take 5 hours then I think we've got a problem.

15 rounds since Oct 1 on the "long courses" haven't been longer than 4 hours 10 min, some under 4. Mostly 8 am or so tee times.

When the have the huge discounts after 11 in the summer and afternoons now they will get stacked up. Lots of visitors playing this week

Thanks for all the responses. I have been here for six years and, hence, my remark about futility but never have experienced having four sets of golfers on a par 4 stacked up (with open holes ahead)..and the final pace of play was 5 hours plus for those who continued. I belong to a group who goes off the Compound once weekly and we have had some fabulous courses to play. I guess I won't do any more championships until next April....Happy Holidays to all!!!!

Played HH a couple of weeks ago. On the 6th tee of The Oaks we could not see the group two in front of us while the group just in front of us was short of the 150's. Once they moved off of #6 we had three groups on that hole. When the ambassador came by when we were waiting on #7 tee he asked if everything was going okay. One of my playing partners commented it would be a lot better if the group in front of us would pick up the pace. The ambassador said have a good round and drove off to the groups behind us. We finished in just under 5hrs.

Our neighborhood group plays off campus from October through March. Rates are lower play faster and some courses offer great amenities. some courses have strict rules they enforce regarding steady play.

I m a priority menber and as such need to play some 66 rounds to break even but I too get upset with the lax supervision by ambassadors, especially since I am paying both priority and fees. I will not buy a priority in the future and will play more often off campus
