Default Just got home from Publix in Spanish Springs.

I just stopped in at Publix at Spanish Springs to pick up a few things. It was about 8pm. I stood at the Deli for a few minutes, and there didn't seem to be anyone there, and it looked like the lights were off. I went over to a woman in the fried chicken/sandwich area and asked her if the deli was closed. She looked up and said I'll be there, lady. She seemed really upset that some body wanted to buy some food. Another clerk came to get me some turkey. I guess I was the only person needing meat cut.

When I was done, I went to the checkouts.....only one was open, and I was 3rd in line, with several others behind me......finally they put an announcement over the loudspeaker that the service desk would check out if you had a small order.

I had to get something else after I checked out, so I went to the service desk to pay, and I asked if they didn't expect anyone to shop at 8pm, since there were no checkouts open, and no *******.

She said, yes, usually they don't have much business then.

Quite a change from Orlando!

Things pretty much close up here around 9...almost all the country clubs do.

I use to work in retail and the store closed at 9PM and we weren't allowed to close one minute before that time. Every once in a while someone would come in at 8:59 PM to shop for something. It happens so you put a smile on your face and deal with it.

It sounds like she was annoyed, as she must have cleaned the cutting machine and would need to do it over to fulfill your order. It seems like she doesn't like her job and wanted to go home immediately.

Sounds like an attitude adjustment is needed on her part or maybe she had a bad day. Who knows?????

Just sayin.........

If you have a job you should be thankful, for there are many standing in line waiting to take your job if you are not a good worker or treat the customers like they are needed to keep your job.

And do it cheerfully or find another if you can. Sounds like what we heard about the Depression.
