Default Save Stetson Mansion

We just went to the Stetson Mansion it was Amazing. The 2 people that own it restored it and give a tour of every part of the house. The money collected goes to help under privileged children in the area as one of the owners grew up in the projects of Newark, NJ. It is decorated for Christmas until Jan 15th. Unfortunately the 2 people of have spend countless hours restoring it have had to put it back on the Market to move to be closer to ailing family. Right now the 3 interested buyers are all from other countries. The Stetson Family made huge donations to the now "The Stetson University" and most people that either attend or even work there have no idea of its existence. If you have been there I'm asking if you would help me in sending a letter to Stetson University 421 North Woodland Boulevard DeLand, Florida 32723 or go to there web site and send an email. The owners are hoping someone from the University would want to keep this wonderful home in The Family...

We went a few weeks ago and it is really a beautiful place inside. Worth the trip. A shame it is up for sale. The Christmas decorations will be up till Jan 15th.

It is $20 per person and cash only.

We're going to get there before the 15th. Who knows what will happen if it is sold.

Default Tour Reservations via email only

We have a tour reservation for tomorrow. They no longer accept reservations via phone and insist upon an email request addressed to stetsonmansion@hotmail.com This was their initial acknowledgement response:

Greetings from The Stetson Mansion,

Thank you for sending us your tour inquiry.

This is not a confirmation of your request.

Due to the unusual amount of calls and requests for reservations we have found this method to be an alternative to the more personal phone contact we would prefer to extend to you. Please be sure your inquiry request included a couple of alternate dates, desired tour times, number of guests, contact information home phone and cell phone number. Requests without a telephone number can not be considered.

We will email or call you back with fulfillment when confirmed. We will try to back to you quickly but this may take up to 48 hours. The Stetson Mansion is a private home and no visitors are permitted without reservations!! Please do not come without reservations. I am sorry, but you will be turned away.

We look forward to seeing you and sharing the Mansion with you. The magic of Christmas truly sparkles at the Stetson Mansion!
.

Gates open 25 minutes before each tour time. Parking is on the grounds. Please avoid wearing high heels. Tickets are $20 and we do not accept credit cards. Cash and checks only. The tour will last about one hour and thirty minutes. There is no photography permitted inside the Mansion for security reasons.

If there are any questions or you need directions please feel free to consult our website showcase@stetsonmansion.com . Please remember to email us if you are not going to be able to join us so we can offer your reservation to another guest. Email us at least 5 days before your tour to relay your final head count if there are any changes to your original booking.

If your visit is around a meal time you might like to make a reservation at the Brickhouse Grill located in downtown Deland about a mile from the Mansion. The Historic Brickhouse is Deland's most popular dining destination and has developed a new menu for this year's holiday season. For dinning reservations call (386)785-1237.

Sincerely,
Michael Solari and JT Thompson

Default Stetson Tour Outstanding

Just returned from Stetson Mansion tour. As others have said, it's well worth the trip. Our tour this afternoon was given by JT, one of the two owners. He was very entertaining. Lunch at the Brickhouse Grill in Deland was also excellent. Our Garmin took us South on 441, thru Leesburg and Tavares. We came home via 42 which was an easier route. Either route, it's about an hour & 15 minutes from TV.

Default Stetson Mansion

I went there in November with a couple of friends and well worth the trip. Christmas decorations were just beautiful and our guide was great. I had not heard that it was for sale and I feel bad that the owners have to sell after all of the time that they had put into it. They seemed to had poured thier hearts into the restoration.

I'm sure it's very nice and worth the trip but after living in a large two story historic house (in Central FL) for about 20 years I have had enough to last me the rest of my life. Why do I say that? I lived without central heat, air conditioning and insulation all of that time! It's exciting at first but not always good for one's health as one gets older.
